Cabinet has also approved the implementation of the National Infrastructure Plan (NIP) 2050 which focusses on unemployment, broad-based black economic empowerment and socioeconomic development in relation to our country’s infrastructure. Engineering News confirmed, in reporting the news, that the NIP is a critical component in activating the development of the infrastructure networks aligned to the National Spatial Development Framework and the District Development Model.
While fuel prices increase dramatically and loadshedding is becoming a more frustrating feature of our economy, it is also encouraging to see that Cabinet has approved the publication of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Rollout Strategy of 2022 in the Government Gazette for public commentary.
The LPG rollout strategy purpose is to address our country’s ongoing challenges in relation to energy supply, which takes into account aspects such as existing infrastructure, local manufacturing as well as the pricing structure.
