Aaliyah is a Candidate Attorney at Barnard Incorporated and a developing legal professional with a focus on commercial and general litigation. She brings a client-focused and diligent approach to her work, supporting senior lawyers on a variety of matters while continuing to expand her skills across procedural and substantive law.

 

Her practice includes research, drafting, court preparation and client support in litigation and advisory matters. Prior to joining Barnard, Aaliyah gained valuable practical experience during her studies through clerkships and vacation placements. These included roles at Larson Falconer Hassan Parsee Inc. and through court shadowing programmes, where she assisted in drafting, attended client meetings and observed court proceedings in both the Magistrates’ and High Courts. These early experiences developed her interest in civil procedure and commercial disputes.

 

Aaliyah holds an LLB from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and began her articles in 2024. She is recognised for her strong work ethic, commitment to client service and enthusiasm for professional growth.
