Isabel is a Senior Associate in the Family Law department at Barnard, with a wealth of experience in contested and uncontested divorces, surrogacy agreements, cohabitation agreements, parental responsibilities and rights, curator applications, domestic violence disputes, and other family law-related matters. She is also well-versed in general commercial litigation.
With a passion for international and customary family law, Isabel brings a unique perspective to her practice. She obtained her BA degree with Law subjects, majoring in Psychology, before earning her LLB degree from the North West University. During her studies, Isabel developed an interest in international law and customary law, and she has continued to pursue these areas of law throughout her career.
Isabel completed her articles at Barnard in 2019, where she demonstrated a keen interest in litigation and family law matters. She was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa that same year.
Today, Isabel draws on her expertise in international and customary law to provide her clients with comprehensive legal advice that takes into account the unique cultural and legal contexts of their cases.
