Isabel is a Senior Associate in the Family Law team at Barnard Incorporated. She has considerable experience guiding clients through a broad range of family law matters, from contested divorces and domestic violence disputes to surrogacy, cohabitation and parental rights and responsibilities disputes. Isabel is known for providing clear, empathetic advice during what are often complex and sensitive situations.
Her practice covers both contentious and non-contentious matters, including curator applications, child maintenance, and drafting family-related agreements. Isabel also advises on general commercial litigation, giving her a versatile edge when family disputes intersect with commercial or property-related concerns. She has a particular interest in international and customary family law, which allows her to offer nuanced guidance where cross-border or culturally specific legal issues arise.
Isabel earned her BA with Law subjects, majoring in Psychology, before completing her LLB at North West University. She joined Barnard in 2017 as a candidate attorney and was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa during 2019. She continues to expand her knowledge and is dedicated to delivering comprehensive and culturally aware advice tailored to each client’s circumstances.
