Douw heads up a dynamic team of directors, associates, and support staff at Barnard Inc in the firm’s quest to be the go-to legal services provider in South Africa. As Managing Director, he works toward expanding both the client base and service offerings of one of Gauteng’s fastest growing commercial and litigation practices, while maintaining the high standards of professionalism and value that are the hallmark of doing business with Barnard Incorporated.
Douw practices in various fields of commercial law and corporate litigation and boasts numerous valuable commercial relationships with clients across a wide spectrum of industries. He is recognised by the leading international peer-review body, The Best Lawyers, in South Africa for his work in Competition / Antitrust Law

Douw obtained his BCom and LLB degrees from the North West University. He was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2009.
While serving his articles of clerkship and as a junior attorney in general law practices, Douw applied for a position as an Associate at Barnard Incorporated in 2010, with the aim of broadening his knowledge and experience.
In 2012, with the emigration of the erstwhile sole shareholder and director, Douw and Gerhard Truter acquired the firm.
