George is a specialist litigation attorney. In addition, he handles various transactional matters including contract drafting and vetting, insurance specific litigation, personal injury litigation, commercial liability claims, complex recovery claims, commercial arbitration matters, attending to trial and motion proceedings in the Magistrates’ court and High Courts, advisory work for committees of a major insurance company, attendance of meetings of various committees within an insurance client, chairing disciplinary and grievance proceedings for specific corporate clients and handling labour disputes by appearing in the CCMA, bargaining councils and the Labour Court.
Using our extensive knowledge and experience, we aim to add value and practical solutions.
In 2003, George was recruited to the Legal and Claims at OUTsurance – a subsidiary of Rand Merchant Investment Holdings – where he oversaw a team of innovative legal professionals.
After joining the law firm, Van Breda & Herbst, he was admitted as an attorney in 2007 and immediately began using his valuable insurance law experience to help develop a claims solution for insurers such as OUTSurance – all while managing a team of litigation professionals and support personnel.
